According to an article on Genius.com, Kanye West’s holding company Mascotte Holdings, Inc. has registered four new trademarks under the name “Yeezy Sound”. No public confirmation from Ye just yet outside, but two other articles cover the particulars of the recent trademark, the oldest published only hours prior to this draft; is that because of the alleged beef between Kanye and Jay-Z?
According to HotNewHipHop.com, the two are in dispute over a 2016 rant in Sacramento, Ca., which Jay alluded to in “Kill Jay-Z” off his latest LP 4:44:
“You gave him 20 million without blinking / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*ck was he thinkin’?”
Though Ye was mentioned along with the incident in question directly in Hov’s lyrics, Jay confirmed with Rap Radar Podcast that the song was not about Kanye.
Speculation over “Yeezy Sound” include a music streaming service, amusement park, and record production; we won’t know more about this potential venture until the G.O.O.D Music boss confirms it himself. Until then, join the discussion—what do you think the Starseed has up his sleeve?
