Lil Wayne has had a long ongoing issue with Birdman, apparently the agreement was that he would receive $8 million dollars up front as an advance for “The Carter V”.  The second part of the deal was another $2 million after the album was released.  The problem came when he recorded “The Carter V” and received no monies, he then asked that his contract be terminated and was denied that as well.

The long drawn out battle has finally come to a close with the help of Lil Waynes’ attorney, Howard King.  Wayne’s attorney filed for dismissal on May 23rd, claiming all parties would like for the case to be closed.   Doesn’t sound much like a win but Lil Wayne has received +$10million from Universal Records, because they think that future sales of the record will be enough to recoup the money from sales of the album.  So congrats to Lil Wayne and we will be on the lookout for “The Carter V”
