New Music: CELESTE – ‘BOTH SIDES OF THE MOON’

Introducing you to the girl you need to know about…

Already picking up spins from Annie Mac, Clara Amfo and being announced Phil Taggart’s ‘Chillest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, as well as spins from the likes of Jamz Supernova and DJ Ace on BBC 1 Xtra, Celeste certainly has a voice worth hearing.

Captivating to say the least, Celeste has performed for Edward Enniful (vogue editor), Spike Lee, Salman Rushdie, Michaela Coel, David Adjaye + more! Her Laylow residency includes multiple performances, including an incredible headline show last week, as well as screenings, dinners and writing/recording.

Idris Elba was also in the crowd and shouting for more at her debut stripped back show last Monday.

Celeste’s influences include soulful greats Aretha Franklin, Minnie Riperton and Etta James to the cosmic sounds of jazz experimentalists Kamasi Washington, Thelonious Monk, Sun-Ra and Alice Coltrane, via the raw unfettered urgency of Amy Winehouse’s early releases.

Her talent is undeniable. Check out the new single below.
