On this music artist one on on feature we had the opportunity to have a Q/A with music artist Ace Geo of Patriarch Recordings to discuss his music, life, & most recent projects . Check out our full Q/A interview below!

Q) Tell me about yourself how did you get your stage name, where are you from, where do you reside etc?

A) I was born in New Haven Ct the youngest of 5 children the Geo in my name is short for George the Ace came about later when I decided to fully embrace my talent as a brand in the music industry, people use to call me A.B  short for Asa Buchanan a fictional character from a television show that had shared similar business traits to myself. I still reside in Connecticut just outside of New Haven with my family. I’ve been in this business since 2006 I’ve had music featured in video games, and commercials as well as background music for Vh1, Bet, MTV and Disney.

Q) Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?

A) My dream Artist to collab with would probably be Jim Morrison or Jay Z , 2 different ends of the spectrum but 2 artists that I admire their contribution to music business.

Q) Which artists inspired you the most growing up?

A) Growing up I have to say that Artists like A Tribe Called Quest, The Temptations, Dr Dre and Diddy probably inspired me the most their stories not only helped me to learn the craft but also motivated me to learn the business behind the scenes.

Q)  Now that’s a selection! What’s the story behind your new single ? Who was the writers/producers of the song? What do you enjoy about making music?

A) My new single is a collaboration between myself and long time friend and Producer F.s featuring Mikey Mondae and Shawnee Xl  It’s called “Pasta” it’s available on a compilation we released called “The Reload “.I enjoy going in the lab with a blank slate and a room full of  creative people the end result is always good when we can push each other to be great.

Q) Do you have a video out yet ? If so, Who directed and shot your video for the song? If not, when can fans expect the visuals for that?

A) No Video Yet we will be working on a number of videos from the Compilation in 2019.

They will be shot by Fs and will most likely be for a brand new Release called Glass House that we plan on putting out in the beginning of the year.

Q) How would you define your genre of music? What can new supporters expect when listening to your music?

A) My Music is definitely all about a vibe people can expect to here a bit of everything from the Club to the Street every track brings new tones new voices and no limits

Listen to ‘The Reload’ compilation project below!

Q) What would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date?
A) As far as Accomplishments im proud of the fact that for  over 10 years I’ve been able to brand myself and others around me I’ve had music placed  in over 1,000 different television shows and movies like Ray Donovan, Entourage ,Silicon Valley and Orange is the New Black to name a few.

Q) If you could cover any song what would it be?

A) Not really into doing covers but if I had to remix a song it probably be  Phil Collins in the Air of the Night . (Best intro opening ever in a song).

Q) What are the most challenging things you experience as an RNB/HIPHOP artist in today’s industry? What changes would you like to see in the music/ entertainment industry?

A) Once upon a time it used to be about the music speaking for you. The DJs use to break records and some still do ,but it seems like we have more DJs and personalities that are just looking for the pay day in order to support the music, for a new artist coming out with no budget or background that can be discouraging. The opportunity should be given to all that work hard for it the game should be played on a level field .

Q) Do you think there’s a double standard in the industry, or in entertainment in general?

A) I feel we have a double standard in entertainment in general in a perfect world as I said earlier the playing field would be level. The value of ones art shouldn’t be determined by his race or gender or budget it should be defined by how it makes the world react how it touches people across the board.

Q) Do you have any new projects on the way or any performances occurring, any events? What’s your over plan for the next few months.

A) So for the beginning of 2019 I plan on releasing new music early in the year and doing more catalog pitches for Sync licensing heading into the spring and summer on the road performing new music from myself and hopefully my Northern League team. And hopefully starting a column called For The Record with associates from Compulsive.

Q) What makes you unique from other artist? Also whats your 5 year goal with your career where do you want to be ?

A) What sets me apart from other artist is the fact that I put business at that same level as the music. I’m a writer, publisher and artist that can fully operate in any genre. My 5 year plan is to fully be a commercial catalog house helping other artist understand the power of branding and sync licensing.

Q) What do you do in your free time? Any Hobbies?

A) My free time is spent enjoying family and friends especially family everything I build is for them.

Q) Who shot your photos for this feature?

A) Photos shot by F.Sargolini
